'Muran and Pilla Zamindar were well received by the audience'
The success of her Tamil film Muran and Telugu film Pilla Zamindar have come as the best gifts this year, says Haripriya, who celebrated her birthday recently.
What elates the actress further is that she has scored with all kinds of audiences. "I played a simple, level-headed girl in Muran which was well received by class (sic) audience; Pilla Zamindar was a hit with the masses."
In Muran, Haripriya plays Lavanya who has a positive influence on the main protagonist Rajan, played by Cheran. The film is a thrilling love story that takes place during a journey.
Pilla Zamindar, also starring Naani in the lead, comes with a message that money is not everything. Haripriya plays a girl who teaches the arrogant hero the meaning of life. "My Telugu film released just one week after my Tamil film and to date, it is running to packed houses in A, B and C centres. With both my third Tamil film and second Telugu films becoming hits, this year has proved lucky," says Haripriya.'I am trying my hand comedy in Kiladi Kitty'
The success of Muran has brought her more offers, but it is her Kannada projects that are currently keeping the actress busy. While she has one more Super Shastri schedule to finish, she is all set to begin shooting for Sagar.
She recently signed Kiladi Kitty opposite Srinagara Kitty as well. "This film has offered me a performance-oriented role. I am trying comedy in the film."

Haripriya shot to fame with her lively acting in Kallara Santhe. After that, she was supposed to do a Yograj Bhat film, but there was a change in the cast. The actress then got busy in Telugu and Tamil films and slowly started making a place for herself in these industries.
On several occasions she had expressed her displeasure at the Kannada film industry choosing heroines from other language industries rather than Kannada-speaking girls. But with the actress getting busy in films in all the three languages now, she has little to complain about.
If rumours of her being considered for a high budget film starring Diganth and another popular hero are true, then the coming year also looks promising. "No one has approached me for such a project. Currently I am listening to a few scripts in Tamil. With my hands full, I am having date issues. I will allot dates to films that will give me scope as an actor," she says.
With all the good news on the professional front, were her birthday celebrations even more special this year? "I had a quiet dinner with my family in Bangalore and spent some quality time at an orphanage," she replied, leaving us to decide whether this was special or not!
