Salman Khan: Alia's upbringing is great

Image: Salman Khan

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt recently expressed his regret over his daughter Alia's participation in the Saifai festival, a cultural extravaganza organized by the Uttar Pradesh government.

However, Salman Khan comforted him and said there’s no need to apologise. ‘Bhatt saab no need for apology, alia's upbringing is gr8, was proud to share the stage vit her. Earns her living vit hardwork n dignity,’ the 48-year-old actor tweeted.

Meanwhile, his daughter Pooja Bhatt also defended him and wrote: ‘Mahesh Bhatt you have NOT failed as a father. Alia needs representation that has a far more sensitized & astute worldview. End of story! Wake up agents, managers, representatives of STARS. Money cannot be the driving force. A bank rich & brain dead generation of role-models? NAH.’

She also had some advice for Alia. ‘To my baby sister Alia all I would say is read the papers more & do not let managers & agents decide your future. Immediate or otherwise. The media will do what the media needs to do. We need to do what we MUST do. That is why we live our dreams. While they 'report' our dreams. Actually Alia should not read the papers more. Most of them are full of lies. Immerse yourself in life more.Bollywood is work. Not existence,’ she added later.
