Bond stars Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench have been named the top actor and actress of 2012.

While Craig, who is the current onscreen Bond, won 26 percent of the votes for best male, Dame Judi, 78, received 27 percent of the vote for top woman in the Sky Movies survey, the Daily Star reported.

The second spot in male and female categories have been taken by two actors known for their quirky roles and personality.

While the star of films like Pirates Of The Caribbean Johnny Depp received 11.5 percent votes, English actress Helena Bonham-Carter figures on the second spot on the actress' list with 10 percent votes.

Rapper and actor Will Smith figures at number three with 11.4 percent votes while actresses Cameron Diaz and Mila Kunis both received 6 percent votes.

With Christopher Nolan's highly acclaimed Batman series ending with The dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale's days of wearing the Batsuit may be behind him but that hasn't affected his popularity as as actor.

He takes up the fourth spot with 7 percent votes.

Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr was a clear hit with movie goers as the smooth-talking and vain billionaire Tony Stark in The Avengers.

He takes up the fifth spot on the popular list with 6 percent votes.

Les Miserables actress Anne Hathaway got 5.7 percent votes.

Another English actor to make it to the list, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is at number six with 5 percent votes while Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence got 5.4 percent  votes.

The Mission Impossible star figures at number seven with 4 percent votes while the beautiful Rachel Weisz, married to Daniel Craig, recieved 5.1 percent votes.

Academy award winning actor Colin Firth is at number eight with 3.7 percent votes while Jennifer Aniston makes it to number eight with 4.9 percent votes.

X-Men and Shame star Michael Fassbender got 3.5 percent votes while Nicole Kidman is at number nine with 4.1 percent votes.

Another English actor Tom Hardy, who's appeared in some highly acclaimed films of the recent times including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and as the mighty villian Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, rounds off the top ten with 2.8 percent votes.

Meanwhile, Emma Watson rounds off the actresses list with 3.9 percent votes.
