TV stars we would like to see in the movies!

In a candid admission to Rediff.com once, actor R Madhavan had said, 'Films are bigger. People remember scenes, not episodes.'

Of course, he's not completely off the mark.

The star of both Tamil super-hits like Alaipayuthey, Run, Vettai and Hindi blockbusters like 3 Idiots and Rang De Basanti started out his career in serials like Banegi Apni Baat and Sea Hawks.

Before him trendsetter Shah Rukh Khan, adored for his zing in Doordarshan serials like Fauji and Circus, famously switched from small screen to silver to become one of Bollywood's leading superstar.

One of the most acclaimed actresses of the moment, Vidya Balan too dabbled in television, playing one of the sisters in Ekta Kapoor's successful TV series, Hum Paanch before making a breakthrough on celluloid.

This week marks the big screen debut of Sushant Singh Rajput, best known for his work on television soap, Pavitra Rishta as well as a powerful contender in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4.

The Kai Po Che actor is already being touted as Bollywood's Next Best Thing with two major films -- Yash Raj's next with Parineeti Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani's Peekay with Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in bag.

Like him, there are quite a few small screen faces worthy of that big break. We take a look.

Ragini Khanna

Ragini Khanna made quite an impact with her chirpy ways in Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi and Sasural Genda Phool.

Govinda's niece may have made her debut in the quickly forgotten Teen Thay Bhai but small screen's bubbliest face deserves another chance.

Vivian Dsena

The hunky Gladrags Manhunt contestant plays a movie superstar in Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.

Given his popularity with the ladies, even though he recently got married, the man has all the requisites to become a movie hero off it too.

Karan Kundra

The Jalandhar native with a flourishing family business back home is happy concentrating on his acting career for now.

After appearing on two seasons of Kitani Mohabbat Hai, the goodlooking chap is playing himself in Channel [V]'s concept show, V The Serial.

Pratyusha Banerjee

The super demure 21 year old came into public eye after Balika Vadhu's Anandi decided to present herself in grown up avatar.

The serial's popularity remains undisputed and Pratyusha has immense potential to make the transition like Prachee Desai did few years ago.

Rucha Hasabnis

Even though she plays a troublemaker in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Rucha Hasabnis is rather cute and a scene stealer on the show. Her wicked, comic skills make her an ideal candidate for Bollywood's screwball humour.

Sumona Chakravarti

Everyone knows her as the spoilt but sweet Natasha in Bade Ache Lagte Hain but the fresh-faced 24 year old has done brief cameos like playing Ileana D'Cruz's gal pal in last year's Barfi!. How about a main lead next?

Kushal Tandon

Another young 'un with promise is model-turned-actor, Kushal Tandon.

The former runner's up of Grasim Mr India worked on several commercials and pursued a film course in New York till he got a meaty role in the on-going Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai .

Niaa Sharma

Another actor from the same series, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai is the lovely Niaa Sharma. She's attracted quite a fan base and awards for her dazzling debut in a central role.

Simran Kaur Bhalla

She may play a spooky witch in the supernatural series, Anamika but Simran Kaur Bhalla is quite a stunner outside getup. With a huge scarcity of new faces in Bollywood, it would be nice to see adventurous actors like her get their due

Hina Khan

Following the tradition of Tulsi and Parvati, Hina Khan plays the ideal bahu Akshara on the long-running family soap, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Pretty and talented, Khan has got what it takes. What say, Bollywood?
