PIX: When Saif, Kareena, Salman went blonde

Saif Ali Khan, quite the expert when it comes to spicing up appearances in films, will be seen as a desi Zombie slasher posing as a Russian in Go Goa Gone.

Aided by a thick accent and slick blonde hair, the actor makes quite an impression in the film's trailers.

Saif, however, has been preceded by many a Bollywood star when it comes to flaunting their blonde-ness on screen.

Here's a look at a few.

Kareena Kapoor

All of Kareena Kapoor's size zero and fabulous onscreen avatar in Tashan was spiced up with a quirky fun song Dil dance maare in which she got to don a blonde wig.

Akshay Kumar

And so did her costar Akshay Kumar, who plays the ruggedly handsome village simpleton Bachchan Pandey in the film.

Salman Khan

Salman Khan's Hulk Hogan style hair and beard in Suryavanshi along side Amrita Singh tanked at the box office, and he hasn't been seen in a blonde look since.

Rambha

South siren Rambha, who made a rare appearacne in 2009 film Quick Gun Murugun in 2009, wore a voluminous wig in the film -- her character Mango Dolly, by her own admission, was a tribute to yesteryear scorcher Helen.

In her spirited dance sequence in Hello everybody from the film Ek Shrimaan Ek Shrimati, Helen dons her signature garb and entices the audience with her seductive turn.

Mumtaz

Yesteryear actress Mumtaz rocks the blonde wig, desi style in the goofy Duniya mein logon ko song from her 1972 film Apna Desh along side Rajesh Khanna.

Saira Bano

Saira Bano plays Preeti, a westernised Indian born and brought up in London who wears her blonde hair with pride and is, in due time, reformed by Manoj Kumar in his 1970 film Purab Aur Paschim.

Sunny Deol

As is required of spies working for intelligence agencies, Sunny Deol (as Arun Sharma in The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy) changes his identity (and hair colour) to stay out of harm's way.
