PIX: Rihanna, J-Lo, Lady Gaga glam up American Music Awards 2013

The 41st American Music Awards -- one of the biggest annual music nights -- were held on November 24 at the Nokia theatre in Los Angeles.

While country music star Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, popular boy band One Direction emerged as big winners of the night, pop star Rihanna, who won the Favorite Female Artist, Soul/R&B and the Icon Of The Year award at the show, put up a magnificent performance.

Jennifer Lopez

Latin hottie Jennifer Lopez donned her signature stage outfits to perform at the do.

The singer also performed a tribute to singer Celia Cruz.

The Favourite Hip Hop/Rap Album nod went to Thrift Shop singers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for their album The Heist. The duo accepted their award through a video.

Lady Gaga

Keeping up her headline-making tradition at awards shows, Lady Gaga arrived for the show on a puppet horse.

Among other big winners of the night were country music band Lady Antebellum, who won the Favorite Band, Duo or Group, Country trophy, popular boy band One Direction -- who scooped up the Favorite Album, Pop/Rock award for Take Me Home and Adriana Grande picked up the New Artist of The Year award.

Taylor Swift

Country music star Taylor Swift, who looked striking in her gold outfit with a sheer detail, swept the awards with four nods -- Favorite Female Artist, Country, Artist Of The Year, Favorite Female Artist, Pop or Rock and Favourite Album for Red.

Christina Aguilera

The Voice judge Christina Aguilera showed off her curves in her cutout gown on the red carpet.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus, who stuck to her favourite monochrome look for the red carpet, kept a relatively low profile after her EMA and Video Music Awards 2013 shenanigans.

Pitbull and Marc Anthony

Singer Pitbull, who hosted the event, congratulates Marc Anthony on his Favorite Artist, Latin win.

Justin Timberlake

Actor-musician Justin Timberlake, who made an impressive comeback with his album 20/20 was another big winner of the night.

The Suit & Tie hitmaker took home three awards -- Favorite Male Artist, Pop/Rock, Favorite Album, Soul/R&B and Favourite Male, Soul/R&B for the album The 20/20 Experience.

Katy Perry
