The MTV movie awards held over the weekend in Los Angeles had quite a few memorable moments.

Dressed in an eye-popping outfit, Django Unchained actress Kerry Washington gave a glowing speech about her frequent co-star Jamie Foxx before he took to the stage to accept the MTV generation award, his second gong of the night.

The Springbreakers actress/singer Selena Gomez, who recently split with her boyfriend Justin Beiber, sparkled in a gold dress on the red carpet.

She later took to stage to debut her new single Come and get it.

Former Harry Potter actress Emma Watson, dressed in an edgy cutout dress, poses with the trailblazer award.

Rapper Macklemore -- along with collaborator Ryan Lewis -- performed their hit song Can't hold us.

Taking a break from family time, Brad Pitt presents the award for movie of the year at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards in Culver City during the MTV awards.

Twilight actor Taylor Lautner accepts the award for best shirtless performance for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Actor Tom Hiddleston poses with the award for best villain for The Avengers.

Hiddleston also picked up the best villain award for his role as Loki in Thor and paid tribute to One Direction singer Liam Payne's dog, who shares his name with the evil Marvel comic character.

know who Liam's dog is in Asgard, it's all about getting the word out,' he said.
