PIX: Ash-Abhishek's journey through 5 years of marriage!
Today, April 20, marks the fifth wedding anniversary for Bollywood's most popular and widely written about couple -- Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan.
A part of the Hindi film industry's first family, the younger Bachchan couple has pretty much constantly been in the news ever since they tied the proverbial knot.
As we wish Mr and Mrs Bachchan a happy anniversary, we have a look at the milestones in their marital life.
The wedding
Married in a lavish but fiercely-guarded ceremony, Abhi-Ash's big day saw media and fans gather around the house, hoping to get a glimpse of the couple.

First appearance as Mr and Mrs Bachchan
Following the wedding, the couple took off to Tirupati along with Sr Bachchans, Tina Ambani and Abhishek's sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda in a private jet to seek blessings from Lord Venkateshwara.
After the puja, the couple made their first official appearance as a married couple.
Sarkar Raaj
Abhishek and Aishwarya appeared in their first movie after the wedding -- Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar Raaj.
A sequel to Sarkar, the film didn't do as well as the first film and Ash was a new entry in the original cast.
Cannes Appearance
The couple made their first Cannes Film Festival appearance in May the same year as a married couple.
They attended the premiere of Wong Kar Wai's Blueberry Nights.
Poll Day
The Bachchan family took their new bahu out to cast vote during the 2009 general elections in Mumbai.
The Bachchans, in a visibly spirited mood that day, flipped their inked middle fingers for the cameras after casting their votes.
Cover couple
In a glamorous shoot for Vogue India, the couple snuggled up in designer clothes for their first ever magazine cover as a married couple in July 2010.
Baby Shower
The Bachhcans threw an opulent baby shower for Ash in October 2011 at Taj Land's End in Bandra, just a month away from the baby girl's arrival.
Doting daddy-to-be Abhishek never left his glowing wife's side.
The new parents-to-be
One of the few appearances the couple made during Ash's pregnancy was at designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla bash in November 2011, just a week before the actress went into labour.
D-Day
Ash paid a visit to the Seven Hills hospital in Andheri, a western Mumbai suburb before she was admitted to give birth.
She was accompanied by Abhishek, Amitabh and Shweta Bachchan.
Bringing the baby home
Ash brought her baby girl home after a week of stay in the hospital.
While Amitabh and Abhishek accompanied her, mom-in-law Jaya stayed back at home to give the new mum and her daughter a fitting welcome.
Meeting the new parents
The new parents made their first public appearance after bringing the baby home at a press conference called by Amitabh.
Amitabh and Abhishek fielded questions about the new addition to the family.
Wedding guests
Aishwarya made her first public appearance with Abhishek after the press conference when she attended the wedding reception of Riteish Deshmukh's younger brother Dheeraj in February this year.
