Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is fast emerging as one of the most ardent admirers of the anarkali, a voluminous salwar kameez favoured as much by Bollywood beauties as the city's socialites.

While Amitabh Bachchan's grand 70th birthday party saw a record number of anarkalis on the red carpet, bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan led the pack in an opulent Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla floor-length version of the outfit.

The 38-year-old mum chose another Abu-Sandeep anarkali for the tribute art show organised on October 11 for her pa-in-law's birthday.

The actress attended the United Nations Every Woman Every Child Dinner in New York, dressed in a fiery red Sabyasachi number in September this year.

Ash chose her most favoured silhouette with yet another Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla anarkali as she attended a party hosted by Mukesh and Nita Ambani earlier this year.

The actress accompanied husband Abhishek Bachchan to the wedding reception of Ritiesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza in February this year, dressed in a more colourful version of the anarkali.

It was yet another Abu-Sandeep creation for the actress as she attended a party thrown by the Bachchan family's favourite designer duo, right before she gave birth to daughter Aaradhya last year.

It was a shorter version of the anarkali for Ash, as she attended the Apsara awards in 2011.
