'Why are TV channels not showing I Am?'

Filmmaker Onir is upset that no satellite channels are willing to telecast his National Award-winning film I Am.

'I feel sad that there is so much of violence against children in India ( 53% of children face some form of sexual abuse). Yet when you try to address Child sexual abuse in a film . all the satellite channels refuse to show OUR film citing that the audience does not wanna see,' he tweeted.

'Its a shame that the satellite channel heads are only concerned about money and make LOUD statements against the govt about what action the govt should take to stop child sexual abuse .... but refuse to contribute to spreading the awareness thru their media because of greed,' he added.

'TV channels r screaming loud against the govt. Why not ask their programmers why they refuse to show films addressing the same. all satellite channels refused to screen I AM, a film addressing child abuse,' he added.

Directed by Onir, the film is based on four true stories dealing with sperm donation, gay rights, Kashmiri Pandits and child sex abuse.
