Abhay Deol's support to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the composers of his upcoming film One By Two, has earned him appreciation from the music fraternity.

Deol, who produces the film as well, said he was not happy with the way music label T-series is marketing it. During the recently held Screen awards, he wore a 'black eye' (pictured above) as a symbol of protest.

Deol said that the music giant is not releasing music of his new film because Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy insisted on not signing an 'illegal' clause concerned with the copyright of the film's music.

Now, musicians including Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher, Vishal-Shekhar and others have come out to support Deol.

"Big respect!! Thank you for your support and Whatever happens whether the music releases or not @OneByTwoFilm needs all your support people !!!! please RT!!," the music trio tweeted.

"Its encouraging to see someone at least standing up for the Music fraternity," tweeted singer Sonu Nigam.

"Appreciate Abhay Deol's Stand, he had choice but he chose to save art and artistes from illegal contracts. Hope all actors producers join this," vocalist Kailash Kher shared on the micro-blogging website.

"Hats Off to you Mr Abhay Deol! I'm speechless at your stand. Respect. Always," singer Sunidhi Chauhan tweeted.

"Today, Abhay Deol has shown he is a man of principles and courage. He's won the admiration and thanks of the entire film music fraternity," music director and singer Vishal Dadlani posted on Twitter.

"We need to revolutionize the work ethics of Indian music industry!!! No more illegal contracts... Boycott the music Mafia!!," tweeted Alisha Chinai.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene and husband Sriram Nene have sent a letter to Kolhapur MLA Vinay Kore requesting him to ensure relocation of elephant Sunder to a sanctuary.

The letter was sent by the Nene couple to Kore on behalf of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an organisation that looks after the well being of animals.

Kore, in 2007, had donated the elephant to the Jyotiba temple in Kolhapur.

The letter comes in advance of the next High Court hearing, scheduled for January 21, for a case in which PETA is seeking Sunder's release from the temple where the elephant has been kept chained and inside dark sheds for most of the time.

'(Sunder) has scars on his legs and cowers in fear and pain because he is being beaten by his mahout,' write Dixit-Nene and her husband.

'He should live free from suffering, in the company of other elephants, and have the opportunity to roam vast distances,' they wrote.

Director Imtiaz Ali, who has teamed up with A R Rahman for his upcoming film Highway, says the music maestro gets the soul of the story beautifully through his tunes.

Highway, directed by Imtiaz, is a road movie starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda who traverse through six states of north India in the course of the film.

The movie song Maahi Ve, written by Irshad Kamil, is a soft romantic number sung by Rahman in his inimitable soulful way. Rahman had earlier worked for Imtiaz's Rockstar.

"Maahi Ve is coming more from Rahman sir than from Irshad or me. It (song) was not a part of the original brief but I cannot imagine the film or the album of Highway without it," Imtiaz said.

"This is one of the songs that Rahman sir makes and one wonders how he gets the soul of the story so beautifully," he said.

Highway, produced by Window Seat Films and presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be released worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures on February 21.

With the condition of ailing actress Suchitra Sen having stabilised, doctors said she might be released from hospital in the next two to three days for treatment at home.

"She is critical even now, but her condition has stabilised. So, we can release her after which she can be treated at home," Pradip Tandon, CEO of Belle Vue Clinic, said in Kolkata.

He said that the condition of the 82-year-old actress remained much the same as before and her vital parameters were stable. "But age is working against her."

Sen and her family members, actresses Moon Moon, Riya and Raima, have wished that she should be treated at home now, sources said.

Sen was admitted to the super-speciality hospital on December 23 following a respiratory tract infection.

Later she was treated in a private Intensive Treatment Unit for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Led by Dr Subrata Maitra, a medical board was formed to monitor the health of its star patient around-the-clock.

Sen, who has been living the life of a recluse in a south Kolkata apartment, has starred in memorable Hindi films like Devdas, and Aandhi and Saat Paake BandhaAgnipariksha, Saptapadi and Deep Jwele Jai in Bengali.
