The latest episode of Life OK's Ek Thi Naayika features Mouli Ganguly, Sudha Chandran and Yask Tonk. All of them were part of Kaahin Kissi Roz four-and-a-half years ago, for the same production house (Balaji Telefilms).

Mouli Ganguly says she is happy to be in the same production as Sudha Chandran yet again. "I was very excited to work with Sudhaji again," she said. "I was extremely close to her during KKR days. I admire her strength and spirit. She is an inspiration. I was completely raw, new and young during KKR. I have learnt a lot from her and am still learning, because life is all about learning."

In tomorrow's (Saturday) episode, the story is based in Kolkata. Mouli plays a Bengali theatre actress, Tanushree Dasgupta "who is immensely popular and respected. She used to be a huge fan of veteran actress Uma Biswas with whom she did her first play. Uma commits suicide. Why she did so and how Tanushree's life is affected by that is what the story is all about," says Mouli.

'I haven't experienced anything spooky so far'

Given the supernatural nature of the series, does she believe in ghosts?

"Good energy and bad energy both exist but I choose to be indifferent to negative energy or ghosts. Thank God I haven't experienced anything spooky so far."

Mouli had mentioned in one of her interviews that in Mumbai people feel that everybody in Kolkata is involved in jadu tona (black magic).

"Yes," she affirms, "that's what people say-- Bengal ka jadu tona!! I have heard that lots of times. People feel it's very common in Bengal but I have no idea--may be in certain areas or places..."

Konkona Sen Sharma does a cameo in Ek Thi Naayika as part of the promotion for her film Ek Thi Daayan. She shot for the episode despite her son Haroon being unwell. "She was very co-operative and shot the full night while her son was at home," says an admiring Mouli.

So, what feedback has she got from viewers for her negative role as Anushka in the daily soap Kya Hua Tera Vaada?

"I have got extremely, unexpectedly good feedback. People come and tell me that they feel I am versatile and can carry all roles with conviction," Mouli smiles.
