Mallika Sherawat, who surprised everyone with her presence at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, praised Aishwarya Rai. When a fan wrote to Mallika saying more pictures of her were published than Aishwarya, Mallika tweeted: 'She looked incredible!'

She also caught up with the likes of Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson. 'Was with Sandra Bullock, she is sooo funny and smart and looks absolutely beautiful:) Havin so much fun, Scarlett Johansson is supacool:),' Mallika tweeted.

Mallika was also present at the after-party. 'Oscars is over, now onto the Governors Ball then the other events startin w. Elton John's:)' she added.

The Hisss actress also managed to impress Nicole Kidman and Elton John with her charm. 'lovin being here, such energy in this room! Nicole Kidman is so sweet said I looked stunning OMG:) She's gorgeous and TALL! #oscarsrealtime. Just met Elton John! Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: 'Up early to catch Oscars .. Just saw Abhishek and Aishwarya being interviewed on red carpet .. And AR and Ashutosh'

Director Madhur Bhandarkar was also up early. 'Woke up early for the mother of all celebrations THE OSCARS, supporting DAVID FINCHER to win The BEST DIRECTOR for The Social Network !!!'

Ranvir Shorey, meanwhile, was watching both the Budget and the Oscars. 'Hold the Oscar for Best Actor till Pranabda finishes with the Budget,' he posted.

Whereas Anupam Kher compared Oscars with Bollywood award shows: 'OSCARS have grandeur, showmanship, finesse and more importantly the large hearted quality to applaud for others. WE DON'T HAVE IT.:)'

Celebrity Chef Padma Lakshmi was all praise for the Oscar presenter Kirk Douglas. She tweeted: 'So far Kirk Douglas is the funniest presenter at the Oscars. Go Spartacus! They brought in a bunch of 5th graders all the way from Staten Island to jazz up the Oscars. Too late. But cute. :)'

Madhur Bhandarkar, on the other hand, wrote a complete list of his favourites: 'My favorite for BEST ACTOR -Colin Firth for The Kings Speech. My favorite for BEST PICTURE - The Kings Speech. My favorite for the BEST ACTRESS - Natalie Portman for BLACK SWAN !'

Meanwhile, jewellery designer Farah Ali Khan was favoured by music maestro A R Rahman's wife Saira Rehman. 'Yay yay Saira Rehman wife of AR Rehman wore FK jewellery 2 d Oscars 2day. Also Serena Williams wore FK jewellery 2 the Essence Awards in LA,' Farah informed.

Ranvir Shorey congratulated Natalie Portman on her win: 'I've met Oscar winner Natalie Portman. I even have a picture :P Congratulations to one of the most exquisite actors of our time.'

Sandhya Mridul, whose favourite film was The Fighter, cheered for Christian Bale as he collected the trophy for best actor in a supporting role. 'Christian bale it is! And not just because he agreed to Attend the Awards but because he so deserved it!

Amrita Arora, on the other hand, was also amazed by the Oscars' host. 'Y is every1 diss'ing the hosts at the oscars??I thought they super..young,fresh,funny n talented...' she wrote.
