Lady Gaga, Beyonce shine at MTV music awards

It was star-studded night and pop divas Lady Gaga and Beyonce added to all the glamour and drama at the recently concluded MTV video music awards that was held in Los Angeles.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian arrived solo at the do and presented the best male video award to Justin Beiber for his song U Smile.

Singer Selena Gomez, who arrived with boyfriend Justin Beiber, looked smashing and older than her years in a black lace outift.

While Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and British singer Adele dominated in the awards department, Beyonce brought the house down with a power-packed performance and the news of her pregnancy as hubby Jay Z beamed off stage.

Artist Nicki Minaj, who stepped into Lady Gaga's shoes as the most outrageous dresser of the night and also picked up an award for Best Hip Hop video for her song Super Bass, poses with Beyonce on the red carpet.

Lady Gaga performs as former Queen member Brian May plays the guitar. Gaga was dressed as her male alter-ego Joe Calderone all throughout and picked up awards for Best female video and video with a message for her song Born This Way.
