With Mother's Day around the corner, actresses Kangna Ranaut and Shraddha Kapoor, and director Abhishek Kapoor spent some quality time with their mothers at an event organised at a five star hotel in suburban Mumbai last evening.

The stars spoke about their moms at length as well.

Kangna revealed that if her mother Asha Ranaut had her way, she would have been married at the age of 16.

"My mother wanted me to get married at 16," Kangna said. "She felt that was the right age. This (marriage) was a talking point at my home. In fact, my brother is 22 years old and my mother feels he has crossed his marriageable age," she said.

Kangna's mother Asha, meanwhile, was full of praise for her young daughter.

"She has been dedicated and hardworking since childhood," she said, adding, "She has achieved success on her own, without any godfather. I am very happy with her achievements. We have faith in her, and she will reach further ahead in her career."

The actress, who latest film Shootout At Wadala opened well at the box office, revealed that her mother would beat her with broom because she was a very naughty girl.

"My mother has taught me everything -- right from cooking to cleaning work. So if not an actor, my career was otherwise set." she said.

And to prove that, Kangna showed off her skills at gardening, with some help from her mother.
