Pooja Bhatt: Book on 26/11 The Seige is flawed

Prev     Next

Actress-turned-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has slammed the latest book on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack titled The Siege. Pooja claims the book is flawed, as it states incorrect information about her Anglo-Indian mother Kiran Bhatt.

‘The much touted book on 26/11 'THE SEIGE' by Adrian Levy & Cathy Scott Clarke is in-factual & flawed. Ultimate account of 26/11? Anything BUT. Authors Adrian Levy & Cathy Scott Clarke describe my Anglo Indian mother as 'A practicing Muslim who had raised her son in that faith'. LIES! I'm proud of my unique bloodline of Hindu, Muslim, Burmese, Scottish, Armenian rolled into one. But get my Mother's lineage right Adrian & Cathy!’ the 41-year-old filmmaker tweeted.

To which author Adrian Levy replied: ‘was a reference to Soni Razdan and not your mother and her extraordinary lineage Pooja. Will clarify in new edition!’

Defending her brother Rahul, she replied: ‘Wrong reference unfortunately since Soni Razdan is not Rahul Bhatt's mother and neither is she a practicing Muslim. What rankles is the assumption that Rahul Bhatt was brought up as Muslim. Where and how did you'll come to that conclusion? My mother is Scottish, Burmese, Armenian, English. My father is half Brahmin, half Muslim & Soni is Half Kashmiri & half German.’

Rahul Bhatt's closeness to 26/11 conspirator David Headley had brought him under the scanner of anti-terror agencies.
