Jennifer Aniston

British actor Rupert Everett has slammed Jennifer Aniston's career.

Everett has accused the 41-year-old actress of making 'tasteless' romantic comedies though he blames her career on Hollywood's conservatism, reports the New York Daily News.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4, the My Best Friend's Wedding actor said that he lost jobs after coming out, blaming his lack of roles -- and that for women -- on show business being 'run mostly by heterosexual men'.

'There are lots of women and lots of men in the business that the powers that be decide are the right people and they'll stand with them for quite a long time,' he said.

Everett argued that no matter what fans may think, the industry decides who will become A-list. He then used the case of Aniston to further illustrate his point.

'Jennifer Aniston will just have one too many total flops. But she's still a member of that club,' he said. 'And she will still manage to -- like a star forming in the universe -- a whole lot of things swirling around and suddenly solidifying into yet another vital tasteless rom-com that will glitter next to the Crap Nebula.'

MJ's doctor: Star killed himself by overdosing

Michael Jackson

Lawyers for Dr Conrad Murray, who is facing trial for involuntary manslaughter in Michael Jackson's death case, will claim the singer actually killed himself, a prosecutor was heard saying yesterday.

'I do think it's clear the defense is operating under the theory that the victim, Michael Jackson, killed himself,' CBS News quoted Deputy District Attorney David Walgren as saying.

The statement was a result of a clash between Murray and the prosecutor over who should test residue from two syringes found in Jackson's bedroom. The issue of residue in the syringes is unlikely to be brought up in the January 4 hearing, attorneys said.

Jackson died on June 25 last year, of what was later found to be acute Propofol intoxication, with other sedatives. But Flanagan told Judge Michael Pastor that a huge amount of the anesthetic Propofol would have had to be present in Jackson''s body to kill him.

He noted that Murray said he gave him only 25 milligrams of the drug along with small amounts of benzodiazopines - sedative drugs -- to help him sleep.

There have been suggestions that when Murray left the room for some time, Jackson, possibly desperate for sleep, could have injected himself with more of the Propofol.

Flanagan said a broken syringe was found on the bedroom floor in addition to a syringe in an intravenous medication bag. He said a fingerprint found on the broken syringe hasn't been identified.
