WATCH: GIMA nominees sing for Rediff

The annual Global Indian Music Awards that honours singers and musicians, is set to be announced on October 1 this year.

The nominees in the Best Female Playback Singer category sing the songs that got them the honour:

This songstress has been nominated for her song Subah hone na de from Desi Boyz.

"I have been singing since the age of 3," the singer says.

She's sung songs in Agent Vinod, Cocktail and Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji.

The fiesty Aditi has been nominated in the non film music category for Hello Andheron featuring the band Agnee.

"I have been in the industry for four years. I sang my first song in the film Dev D, she tells us.

Harshdeep Kaur has been nominated for her hit song Kateya karun from Rockstar.

"I have sung songs for many music directors including AR Rehman. I also sang Jugni for the movie Cocktail which is a recent release," Harshdeep says

Nandini Sirkar has been nominated for her heart-warming rendition of Bhare naina in Ra.One.

"I have been a music director for the last 15 years, and I sang one song for Ra.One. I mostly compose music for ad films," she says.
