Mira Nair's controversial 1996 film Kama Sutra: A Tale Of Love made headlines for obvious reasons.

After a very discreet shooting schedule in India that involved pretend-shooting whenever government officials paid the film sets a visit, the film was only shown to the authorities in its entirety upon its completion and was promptly banned.
