Kannadigas have time and again gone beyond the barriers of Kannada film industry and attempted to make a mark in the world of international cinema.

After Anup, who recently came out with an English film, Words, it is the turn of Bengaluru's Stanley Joseph. Stanley has directed an English film titled Newton's 3rd Law. The tag line of the film is: 'It's time when ACTION meets the ultimate REACTION' and takes off on Newton's third law of motion.

The film carries this title as it is a story of revenge against terrorism.

"Newton's 3rd Law tells the story of cops Mark and Mike Henson, who join an elite anti terrorist squad. From an international terrorist to an urban terrorist with a new face but a familiar modus operandi, this squad must race against time to prevent a catastrophe," adds Stanley.

The film wonders whether there are people who are too evil to deserve the protection of law. "This is a thinking person's action movie," Stanley says. "Initially, there were plans of calling the film Karma. But since westerners may land up pronouncing it as 'Kama' and that would give an entirely different meaning, we decided on Newton's 3rd Law," adds the director.

Twins Mark and Mike Duncan are part of main cast. These two Australian actors have acted in Madesha, a Kannada film starring Shivarajkumar.

The story of Newton's 3rd Law has been penned by Stanley and Brain Caswell. For the first time in the history of Australian cinema, an Indian -- Bharti Reddy -- is turning producer with this film.

Stanley has also composed the music for the film. "I have always been keen on composing music for films. But film makers in Bangalore required me to spend more time here and this wasn't possible as I was residing in Australia. But with this film I fulfill the dream of composing music for films as well," says Stanley. He had earlier composed music for a Kannada tele show.

The film will be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Kannada audience will get to watch the film with Kannada subtitles. The team will be approaching major Hollywood production houses with regards to distribution later this month.

The filming was completed in a span of 35-40 days.

Stanley wants to make a film on aboriginals next.

"In fact, the subject was my first choice. I wanted to make a film on Indian, Australian and aboriginal cultures. But the aborigines I approached were not comfortable with the idea. They feared that their spiritual beliefs may be tarnished. But I am hoping after seeing this film, they will trust the film maker in me," he says.
