In a poll recently conducted by Entertainment Weekly magazine, movie buffs voted to name cinema's weepiest productions till date.

While James Cameron's magnum opus Titanic was left out of the top five, here's looking at the one's that made it to the list.

5. Life Is Beautiful

An Italian film, Life Is Beautiful is about a Jewish Italian man and how he saves his family from the horrors of Holocaust during their internment at a Nazi concentration camp.

The film won three Oscar awards in 1999.

4. Brokeback Mountain

Ang Lee's heart-wrenching story of unrequited love between two men in the American West of 1960s saw power-packed performances by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal. The treatment of the film garnered a lot of critical acclaim too.

3. Terms Of Endearment

This multi Academy Award-winning film chronicled the relationship between a mother-daughter duo and also starred Jack Nicholson.

One of the most oignant scenes in the film include one in the hospital where a cancer-stricken Emma (Debra Winger) summons her small kids to tell them that she's dying.

The age-old friendship between a man and his dog takes a tragic turn in this American classic. Considered an important cultural film for kids in the 1960s, many popular culture references are associated with the film even today.

1. Schindler's List

Steven Spielberg's Holocaust epic Schindler's List beat the rest to be the saddest film of all time.

The 1993 film, starring Liam Neeson as German businessman Oskar Schindler, won seven Oscars -- including Best Director for Spielberg.

It tells the tale of how Schindler saved hundreds of his Jewish workers from being sent to their deaths at Auschwitz.
