Amitabh Bachchan got teary-eyed when he attended Shammi Kapoor's Chautha today. The actor got into a introspective mode as he remembered his late friend.

'Miss a birthday, a wedding, but never a funeral ..an advice given by a friend..seeing the turnout at Shammi ji's confirmed my opinion. Shooting for Student Of The Year commences

Karan Johar started shooting for his new film, Student Of The Year, yesterday. Reportedly, he started with a song choreographed by Farah Khan.

Designer Manish Malhotra tweeted: 'lavish song karan style now on to my fashion week collection.'

Director Kunal Kohli wished David Dhawan's son Varun, who's debuting in the film: 'Wish my brother Varun Dhawan best of luck as he starts shooting with @kjohar25 for SOTY from today.'

Farhan Akhtar wished Karan. 'Belated best-o-luck for your shoot. Missed the boat yesterday but luckily had carried arm bands. Have a good one,' he wrote.

Mahesh Bhatt, who watched Ram Gopal Varma's Not A Love Story, couldn't help but praise the film and the filmmaker.

He tweeted: 'Not a love story is an audacious work of a film maker who wants to touch the audience rather than impress them. Its world view moves u. Ramgopal Verma's Not a love story... is actually a great love story.'

Anurag Kashyap also praised RGV. 'Spoke to some not so easy to please people and they all uniformly love Not A Love Story. Seems like @rgvzoomin is back and with a roar. Watching tomo Not A Love Story,' he wrote.

Shilpa Shetty heads to New York film fest with The Desire

Shilpa Shetty will be leaving for the New York Film Festival soon to promote her English film, The Desire - Journey of a Woman, directed by R Sarath.

'Hellooo all my tweetos, landed in the country 2 days ago only to leave again today fr New York for the film festival for my new movie.. The Desire, Journey of a woman,hs been selectd fr NY film fest.Will b walkin the Red Carpet on the 18th but film Showin on the 22 and 24th,' she tweeted.

Shilpa has gone bald for the film. The film revolves around Shilpa, a dancer who later decides to turn into a monk. She will be seen opposite Chinese actor Xia Yu.
