Justin Beiber paternity lawsuit dropped
The woman, who accused singing sensation Justin Bieber of fathering her four-month-old son, has dropped her paternity lawsuit.
Mariah Yeater, 20, had alleged she became pregnant with the Baby singer's child following a 30-second romp after one of his concerts in Los Angeles in October 2010 and although Justin -- who vehemently denied the claims -- had agreed to a paternity test, the suit was quietly withdrawn late last week, according to TMZ.com.
Mariah's lawyers Lance Rogers and Matt Pare have also stopped representing her after Justin's attorney Howard Weitzman warned Mariah they were planning to sue her and her legal representatives for making false claims.
Justin -- who is dating Selena Gomez -- previously revealed he was happy to take a DNA test to prove his innocence but insisted he would not 'waste' his time meeting his accuser face-to-face because her fabricated claims were vindictive.
Kristen Stewart offered lead role in Akira film adaptation?
Kristen Stewart has been approached to take on the main female role in the reimagining of Akira.
The live action adaptation of the iconic magna comic is set to start shooting in March following a script rewrite by Steve Kloves and bosses have offered the Twilight: Saga beauty the part of Kei, a young medium who becomes the love interest for the main character, teen biker gang member Kaneda, Contatmusic reports.
The original story -- focusing on Kaneda and his friend Tetsuo (who has yet to be cast) -- was set in post-nuclear war Tokyo in 2019 while the new movie is expected to take place in New York.
Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company is working on the $300 million project for Warner Brothers with Allen and Albert Hughes directing.
The intention is to make two films, each covering three books in the six-part series. An animated version of Akira has already been made, released in Japan in 1988.

The later singer's estate executor John Branca has had discussions with Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman and Up in the Air producer Tom Pollock regarding the possibility of making a film about his life, now the trial of Dr Conrad Murray -- who was found guilty of his involuntary manslaughter earlier this month -- is over.
Pollock confirmed the talks about the picture, which are in the early stages, Variety reports.
In the meanwhile, three of Michael Jackson's brothers have taken legal action against a businessman they allege duped them into signing 1,000 replicas of their late sibling's iconic jackets.
Marlon, Tito and Jackie Jackson added their signatures to copies of red leather coats worn by Michael in his Thriller and Beat It videos, and claim they were due $100,000 each as part of the deal with Steeve Bohbot.
The trio alleges Bohbot promised to pay them immediately but he changed the agreement so they would only receive the cash when the $2,350 jackets were delivered to Amazon.com for sale.
