The twitter world is quite a busy one, and Bollywood contributes a great deal to it. Here's looking at the best star tweets of the day.

Salman Khan, who is quite busy shooting for his next film Bodyguard opposite Kareena Kapoor, tweeted, 'Kya karen tim he nahi mil raha tha tweet karne ke liyeh, aur zyada thr was no recption , vil send u guys sm pic's'

Akshay Kumar, meanwhile, was swimming against the tide. 'This morning i was wrestlin with crocodiles,now i'm beatin crashin waves of a white water river in the jungles of Malaysia,' he tweeted, and posted a picture to prove it.

Riteish's Hurt Locker

Riteish Deshmukh seems to be having a tough time packing in those fab abs. He tweeted, '#IWish - kaash pizza khane se 8 pack ABS bante aur chocolate khane se wajan kam hota-Post your #IWishes'

Lara Dutta quickly agreed, as she tweeted, 'Can't believe how much I pay in the gym to put my body in pain!! Results r great but its so darn HARD!!! @Riteishd I'm with u on this buddy!'

Abhishek Bachchan agreed with Riteish as well: 'i think some cold stone creamery should take care of the pain!!!!! ahhhhh comfort food! an early morning run just hits the spot. that spot being of extreme pain and torture! HELP! can't even say bhaago like @realpreityzinta'

This led to a fun exchange between the two actors.

Riteish tweeted, 'let's jog to Main teri hoon jaanam (english mein who jo bhi gaana hain)'

Abhishek replied, 'THATS RESERVED JUST FOR YOU BRO..... THAT TOO IN SLOW MO!'

Riteish continued, 'Time to enter the HURT LOCKER (as @juniorbachchan rightly calls it)-wish we all were born with good bodies. Kitni mehnat karni padti hai :('

Down memory lane

Dev Anand, who will re-release his old classic Hum Dono in colour, as Hum Dono Rangeen, tweeted about the film, 'the digitally remastered stereo tracks of hum dono Rangeen are indeed wonderful I must say Lataji, Ashaji and Rafisaab would be there as long as music is there they are eternal great music by jaidevji and finest lyrics by saahirsaab and great performances by sadhnaji and nandaji they look so beautiful.'

Lata Mangeshkar, meanwhile, continued to pay homage to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, who passed away on Monday, and posted a picture of them together.

Amitabh Bachchan passed on his condolences too: 'Reached Bhopal to hear of the sad passing away of BhimSen Joshi .. a giant among classical singers .. an incredible voice ..prayers'

He continued, 'Decorated with the Bharat Ratna, the highest honor of the country ... aaj bharat ka woh anmol ratna, hamare beech nahin raha ...Had heard him personally on several occasions ...a simple man committed to his craft with such magnificence ..atma ki shanti ishwar'

Party time

Sushmita Sen had been having a tough time verifying her account and got Lalit K Modi to help her out. She tweeted, 'Yippppeeee!!! Finally my twitter acc is verified!! Thank you Lalit(Modi):) for all your help! Sooooo much for a tick mark;) party time:))'

Later, she added, 'Thank you guys!!:)U need to get in touch with twitter with all d info they ask for..then they verify ur acc! For those who asked:)'

Juhi Chawla, who went to Samir Soni and Neelam's wedding party, felt happy for the couple: 'Just back from neelams party ... Am genuinely happy for her .. Glad she s settled with someone as nice as samir. Wish them a truly blessed and blissful life together .. '

Amrita Arora shared a picture of her with Tushaar Kapoor at Neelam's sangeet.

Missing in action

Genelia D'Souza, who had been missing from twitter from a while, tweeted, 'Mornin my lovely tweethearts,,I knw I hav been missin 4awhile bt hav been a bit bz..Off 2pune 2shoot 4 Force..Lookin fwd 2 it,hav a gr8 day'

Sameera Reddy had also left twitter for a bit because of some abusive tweets. She tweeted, 'sorry i have been off twitter for a bit! had a few abusive tweets that put me off but i guess its all part of deal right? hows it going?? you guys are too sweet ! well im back with my tweets!! :) missed you all!'

Sussanne Roshan touched base with her fans too. She tweeted, 'Hello tweets sorry to have been missing. I am on a work trip in paris and just read all ur tweets about kwk a big thank u w lots of lovexox!'

Celebrity raided!

The Income Tax department raids at Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif's premises seem to have upset director Kunal Kohli. He tweeted, 'Film stars get raided regularly. How many politicians get raided ? How many politicians have been convicted in the last 60 years ?'

I Hate Luv Storys' director Punit Malhotra felt similarly: 'A Raja gets away, Kalmadi gets away... Swiss accounts come of no consequence... But they go ahead and raid actors!!! Life is so fair'
