Avril Lavigne engaged to Nickelback's Chad Kroeger

Canadian singer Avril Lavigne is engaged to be married to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
The couple decided to walk down the aisle after dating for six months.
Kroeger reportedly presented Lavigne with a 14-carat diamond ring August 8 and a representative for the punk-rocker has confirmed the news, the Hollywood Reporter said.
The announcement comes as a surprise to Lavigne's fans as she had been dating Brody Jenner since mid-2010 before reportedly splitting in January this year.
Before that, Lavigne was married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley for three years. They divorced in 2009.
Lavigne, 27, and Kroeger, 37, first got together in February to co-write a song for Lavigne's upcoming fifth studio album.

'The other kids are now nagging Ange and Brad to land them roles,' the source added.
Katie Homes, Tom Cruise officially divorced
The five-year marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is officially over after a judge here granted them divorce.
The couple's divorce case was closed on Monday, according to court records, E! News reported.
The news comes just a month-and-a-half after the 33-year-old Holmes shocked Hollywood and Cruise by filing for divorce and seeking sole custody of daughter Suri.
The couple, however, worked out a settlement in a matter of days.
Cruise is said to be happy to have a quick settlement and move forward.
Cruise and Holmes began dating in April 2005. They married in November 2006 in a lavish ceremony in Italy.
