Aishwarya Rai Bachchan celebrated her 39th birthday with much honour on November 1, when she received the prestigious Officer Dan Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres -- the second highest French civilian award -- by the French Government in Mumbai.

Ash's baby Aaradhya, who will turn one this month, made a very cute picture with her mum.

The entire family came down to cheer Ash, when she received the French honour -- husband Abhishek, pa-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, parents Vrinda and Krishnaraj and brother Aditya.

Abhishek was quite the doting daddy, as he fussed around baby Aaradhya.

During the ceremony, Ash also cut her birthday cake, in the presence of family.

Ash offered a piece of cake around, and enjoyed a mouthful as well.

Ash had missed out on the French honour twice earlier.

Ash, who has been a regular at the Cannes film festival in France for the last decade, poses with her family at the ceremony.
