Just what movies has the Ra.One director made before?
Considering it's the biggest budget Hindi film of all time, it seems destined that director Anubhav Sinha will be known as the man who made Ra.One.
However, the 46-year-old filmmaker has been around quite a while. Here's a look at the last decade, in which he's made five features. Ra.One will be his sixth. It all began way back in 2001:
Tum Bin
Starring Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sandali Sinha and Himanshu Malik, Sinha's first film was a fresh, relatable romance which worked with audiences despite a cast of absolute unknowns.
The film didn't offer anything extraordinary but managed to maintain a consistent tone, and emerged refreshing and sweet. Priyanshu made quite a few women swoon, and the low budget film was a sleeper success.
Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai
Chatterjee was apparently also decent in this film nobody quite watched back in 2003, a formulaic romcom about a gruff Indian businessman (Om Puri) being courted by his prospective son-in-law (Chatterjee.)
Evidently made for Indian audiences in Canada, nobody in Sinha's own country seemed to know when it released, sank and failed to make any impression.

Dus
Sinha's greatest success came with the funky, slick actioner Dus. Starring Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan and Shilpa Shetty, the film crackled along nicely with efficient action setpieces, never once trying to make any sense.
The best bit? Pankaj Kapur in a role 'reminiscent of' (to put it mildly) that of Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects.

Tathastu
In 2002, Nick Cassavetes directed a film about a father who, in order to raise money for his son's heart transplant, takes a hospitalful of patients hostage.
That film, called John Q, was critically panned and considered extremely over-the-top, but Sinha's remake was far more disastrous.
Sanjay Dutt starred instead of Denzel Washington and the pretty Kimberly Elise was replaced by, um, Amisha Patel. 'Nuff said.

Cash
Sinha's last film came in 2007, featuring Ajay Devgn and Ritesh Deshmukh, surrounded by a slew of absolute non-actors: Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan, Esha Deol, Dia Mirza and Shamita Shetty.
There were a couple of peppy songs from Vishal-Shekhar, sure, but the film itself -- a loopy heist movie -- didn't at all excite the imagination and bombed at the box office.
