'An Oscar just for Cate Blanchett's speech'

Here's what your favourite Bollywood celebrities are tweeting. 

The Oscar winners are out and Bollywood stars were floored by Cate Blanchett's speech that she delivered after winning the Best actress for her performance in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.

Here's what they said:

Nimrat Kaur: 'Cate's acceptance speech should be given an #Oscar for being super smart, funny, tongue-in-cheek, graceful and just so so bloody cool!'

Shekhar Kapur: 'Its been a long time coming Cate, but its been yours for years.'

Shabana Azmi: '@shekharkapur u were right. Cate Blanchett got it and made a lovely speech.'

Sudhir Mishra: 'Cate Blanchet who will go down in history as 1 of d grt actors of all time was introduced by our very own Shekhar Kapur ! Take a bow Shekhar.'

Richa Chadda: 'Thank you for that thank you speech Cate Blanchett ! Anyone listening. We make money too. Not niche!'

Pritish Nandy: 'Let the whole world fret over Leo not winning the Oscar. I am happy Cate got it... and Woody Allen got some good news finally.'

Neha Dhupia: 'An #oscar just for that speech .... #CateBlanchett #Oscar2014'

We could make a film like Gravity right here in a studio'

Alfonso Cuarón's sci-fi film Gravity took home seven Oscars including the Best Director and Best Visual Effects. 

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur feels that we can make a film like that in India, 'There are more tech skills in India than anywhere else in the world. We could make a film like #Gravity right here in a studio #Oscars. I love working with people that dream beyond d well they confine themselves in. To Believe. To Aspire. To Yearn. To Strive For d impossible,' the 68-year-old director tweeted.

Neha Dhupia added: 'Said it then , saying it again .... #Gravity u have raised the technical bar for filmmaking forever!'

Sanjay Gupta: 'Best Director for Gravity well deserved.'

'They didn't nominate RUSH in any category so they goof up too'

A few Bollywood celebrities expressed their disappointment at this year's Oscars snub.

Farah Khan tweeted: 'Watching the oscars, but half heartedly coz they didn't nominate my favorite film of the year"RUSH" in any category!! So they goof up too!!'

Rajat Kapoor: 'Inside Llewyn Davis was not even nominated-not for best picture, director, screenplay, actor-nothing! Forget it! No gravity to these awards.'

Sudhir Mishra: 'What r v discussing d Oscars so much! It's their award! They gave it to who they wanted to ! Most of d awards were for grt work . Some not! Martin Scorsese is beyond Awards! 2some's given d "Accident " of greatness! Scorsese has respected that accident. His insistence on staying who he is inspires us all. Salaam!'

 

When Steve McQueen and John Ridley ignored each other

It came as a shock to many after John Ridley won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for his work on 12 Years a Slave, chose not to thank director Steve McQueen during his acceptance speech. 

In return when McQueen won Best Picture award, he hugged most of the people around him, but not Ridley. He also did not include Ridley amongst the people he thanked.

According to Hollywood reporter Nikki Finke, the two are having a dispute. 'My sources attributing John Ridley-Steve McQueen cold shoulder at Oscars tonight to dispute over screenplay credit.' 

Meanwhile, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta defend the director and tweeted: 'This John Ridley did not acknowledge the director. He did not even acknowledge him while walking unto the stage.'
