Incoherent Abraham and Lincoln

No substance. That is the only way one can describe Malayalam film, Abraham And Lincoln, by directors Pramod and Pappan. Starring Kalabhavan Mani and Rahman, the film has no story to speak of with the screenplay haphazardly put together and has scenes borrowed from Hindi and Tamil films. Songs, too, pop out of nowhere.

The film has two heroes -- Abraham (Kalabhavan Mani), a former military man, who has joined the gold Mafia to avenge his younger brother's death, and Lincoln (Rahman), a police officer, who is introduced with a vigilante act against a porn-film maker.

You may think that the two heroes would logically join hands to fight evil, but then the directors had other ideas (or lack of them) so, they end up sticking together set pieces in an incoherent manner.

Rajan P Dev and Babu Raj do what villains usually do.

Technically, this film is heavily inspired by Dhoom, matching the original not only in pizzazz and slickness, but also in the zilch content. Gold mafia, highway robberies, corrupt police, bureaucrats, politicians and their spoilt kids are all lumped together in this hotchpotch film.

However, the directors deserve to be congratulated for some of the breathtaking action scenes like the cross-country bike and car chase in the beginning of the film. Unfortunately, there are few of these to save the film.
