A scene from PoolarangaduRadhika Rajamani feels Poolarangadu is a paisa vasool flick.

Ever since Sunil re-emerged as a hero in KSD Appalraju, filmmakers are looking at him with new eyes. He is the hero in Poolarangadu, a complete entertainer directed by Veerabhadram and does much to keep the film together.

Sunil is at his rollicking best in comedy and superbly light-footed in dance sequences besides knowing how to flex his muscles when required and show off his toned body.

Family feuds and vendetta are nothing new and director Veerabhadram scripts a tale involving a land dispute and rivalry between Lala Goud (Pradeep Rawat) and Konda Reddy (Dev Gill). Lala Goud who was employed by Konda Reddy, ran away with his sister (Pragathi) many years ago and married her, hence the rivalry.

Nobody is allowed to sell the 30 acres of land that lies between the properties owned by the two rivals. However, Ranga (Sunil) acquires this land in the hope of making some money by selling it to get his sister married. He is totally ignorant of the rivalry between Goud and Konda Reddy. But he gets embroiled in it when he comes to take possession of the disputed area. Anita (Isha Chawla),
Lala Goud's daughter, falls in love with Ranga, but Konda Reddy too has his eye on her.

There is enough comedy to justify Sunil and Ali's presence. Veerabhadram's lines and situations, inane though they may be, induce some laughter.

Be it the family rivalry, or the constant action and violence, one has seen it all before. There isn't much of a love track between Ranga and Anitha. The film has too much action and noise and someone or other is constantly getting bashed up.

Sunil carries the film ably on his shoulders, and executes the most difficult dance steps with ease. He's obviously put in a lot of effort into getting his body in shape.

Isha Chawla does not have much of a role, but does her best with whatever she's been given. Ali, Pradeep Rawat, Dev Gill, Rajesh, and Pragati have stereotyped roles which they have done umpteen times before.

Anoop Reubens's music is lively; some of the songs sound energetic on screen. The technical values of the film are good.

Poolanrangadu is a colourful entertainer, which is Sunil's show all the way.
