The title Chamaayisi Chindi Udaayisi is a take-off from what is used by a radio channel in the Bangalore city. Though the title has little relation to the story, it has some comical overtones.

The question is, why did a brilliant actor like Komal choose such a hackneyed story for the Kannada film that is considered as his launching pad as a hero?

Chamakaayis Chindi Udaayisi carries imprints of the Hindi film Deewana Hua Pagal, which was itself a copy of a Hollywood film. Director AR Babu has changed a few sequences in Chamakaayisi but it's not difficult to trace the source of the film!

Coming to the finer points of the film, Ashok Cashyap charms you with some fantastic visuals and frames. The dialogues reflect the contemporary events and trends. The dialogues relating to Aishwarya, Abhishekh, Salman and Vivek, Aunti and Goonda (which relates to the Anti Goonda Act in the state) and Rajashekhara Reddy and Umesh Reddy are comical and timely.

Chamakaayisi is essentially a fun film and has been made to entertain the audience but the director has failed miserably to keep the tempo in the second half of the film. Though the first half is enjoyable with some punch dialogues ( by Manju Mandavya), the second half is a big bore though both Komal and glam doll Nidhi Subbaiah have tried to save the film.

The story is that of Bottu Seenu and his two friends Ramu and Raghu who get cheated by a finance agency. Seenu and his friends -- all bluff masters -- fall in love with Kamala who has taken a new house near Raghu's residence. The friends are disappointed when Kamala leaves for Malaysia. Meanwhile a person called Ganesh finances Seenu to go to Malaysia and trace Kamala. Seenu bluffs to Kamala that he is an architect. Meanwhile, Ganesh also goes to Malaysia. Then come a crime angle and mafia involving some diamonds. What happens in Malaysia with too many suitors trying for Kamala forms the rest of the film.

Komal has carried the film on his shoulders. His punch lines are sure to bring the house down. The film's heroine Nidhi is a treat to watch in songs. Comedy actor Sharan lives his role. Giri impresses while Umashri, Shobharaj and Mukyamanthri Chandru pass muster.

All in all, Chamakaayisi is an average fun film that makes you laugh in the first half.
