Nali Naliyutha directed by Jayanth is supposed to be a comical entertainer, and it could have been a laugh riot if the director had not mixed too many ingredients in it.
Moreover, the 'taming of the shrew' concept has been tried many times before but backed by good scripts. Nali Naliyutha's weaknesses are its script and the narration. Many sequences in the film remind you of the Tamil film Pistha, and also the Kannada film Nannavalu Nannavalu.
Young actor Anirudhdh has been waiting for a big break for quite some time and though he has proven his credentials as an actor in Neenello Naanalle, commercial success still eludes him.
The story revolves around a happy go lucky Surya (Anirudhdh) who is spotted by a businessman called Srinivas (Anant Nag). Srinivas likes Surya for his intelligence and practical attitude and gives him the responsibility of bringing his estranged daughter, Jennifer (Vidisha) back. Surya goes to the estate owned by Srinivas and uses all his intelligence and even muscle power to set things right.
The highlights of the film are the two songs of Rajesh Ramanath, and the stunning camera work. It is Rajesh Ramanath's one hundredth film as a music director.
Performance wise, Anirudhdh, though handicapped by a bad script, tries to be lively throughout the film. Anant Nag has once again done a good job. Vidisha, who has already worked in three Telugu films, is yet to learn what acting is all about though she looks glamorous. Tennis Krishna's comedy will entertain only front benchers. Roja acts in a brief role while Vinaya Prakash and Vanitha Vasu fit the bill.
Nali Naliyutha is just an average, run of the mill film. It could definitely have been better presented.
