Mardaani 2 Trailer: Rani packs a solid punch

November 14, 2019 13:40 IST

Rani Mukerji's presence makes you watch the trailer till the end and wait for the movie's release on December 13, says Namrata Thakker.

After delivering a nuanced performance as a school teacher suffering from Tourette Syndrome in Hichki, Rani Mukerji returns as the fierce cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2.

Directed by Gopi Puthran, the trailer is a little over two minutes long and packs a solid punch.

Unlike Mardaani, which tackled child trafficking, the sequel looks at rape cases in India and focuses on their brutality.

The clock is ticking and Shivani Roy has two days before a serial rapist claims his next victim.

The fast-paced cat and mouse chase makes Mardaani 2 even more interesting.

Though the basic story is revealed, Puthran keeps some of the suspense intact. We never get to see the attacker.

Rani is impressive. Her presence makes you watch the trailer till the end and wait for the movie's release on December 13.

The actor playing the serial rapist will surely give you the creeps.

While Mardaani was well executed with terrific performances, the sequel takes it a notch higher.

If Salman's Chulbul Pandey makes a Dabangg police officer, Rani is the next level badass as Shivani Roy.

We're totally rooting for her!
