Why Ayushmann decided to play a gay man

It's time for another Ayushmann Khurrana Friday at the marquee.

This time, he takes us into his world of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and hopes to open our minds to homosexuality.

"I was not that receptive (before) because there was no awareness," Ayushmann tells Rediff.com Contributor Divya Solgama. "I belong to a small town and did not know so much then. When I grew up and travelled, met people, evolved... you become more accepting towards different thought processes and gender preferences."

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan also stars Jitendra Kumar and that amazing Badhaai Ho couple, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, and they join Ayushmann in this interview.

"This film will make you go home and think," Neena says.

"This film may be an induction to people that homosexuality is normal, but the film is not just about that," Ayushmann adds.
