Dussehra is around the corner and Tamil movie lovers have been promised a treat.

Three big movies will release in the festive weekend.

Find out what to expect:

10 Endrathukulla

Samantha Prabhu and Vikram in 10 Endrathukulla

After the mega success of Goli Soda, popular cinematographer-turned-director Vijay Milton is back with yet another thriller titled 10 Endrathukulla (Before counting up to ten).

The film is jointly produced by AR Murugadoss and Fox Star Studios with actor Vikram and Samantha essaying the lead roles. Jackie Shroff plays the antagonist.

Naanum Rowdydhaan

Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in Naanum Rowdythaan

Vijay Sethupathi teams up with Nayanthara for the romantic action film, Naanum Rowdythaan, directed by Vignesh Shivan of Podaa Podi fame.

The film is produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and has music by youth sensation Anirudh Ravichander.

The first look poster revealed an all new avatar for Vijay Sethupathi.

Nayanthara plays a woman with hearing impairment.

The others in the cast include veteran actors Parthiban, Raadhika Sarathkumar and RJ Balaji.

Vijay Sethupathi’s young song Surya is all set to make his debut in the film.

Rajini Murugan

Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthi Suresh in Rajini Murugan

The hilarious combination of actor Sivakarthikeyan and Soori was one of the biggest strengths of the super hit film Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam in 2013.

Director Ponram, who made his debut with the film, has cleverly retained the same combination for his upcoming venture Rajini Murugan.  He has also gone in with the same team of technicians.

D Imman has composed the music, cinematographer KT Balasubramaniem has helmed the camera, and the National award-winning Vivek Harshan is the editor.

The only additions are the ever-dependable Rajkiran, who plays Sivakarthikeyan’s grandfather and Malayalam actress Keerthi Suresh.  Actor/director Samuthirakani has been roped in to play the antagonist.

It now remains to be seen whether the director is able to recreate the same magic.
