Lara Dutta is celebrating 20 years of being crowned Miss Universe!

The actress, whose show Hundred is currently airing on Disney+ Hotstar, was crowned on May 12, 2000 and she is reliving the moment.

'20 years to the day!! 12th May 2000, Nicosia, Cyprus. What a wonderful gift to receive from the universe! One I'm eternally grateful for,' Lara exclaims.

Lara is the second Indian to win the Miss Universe title.

Sushmita Sen won the Miss Universe title in 1994.

Lara won the 2000 Femina Miss India pageant. Priyanka Chopra was first runner up, Dia Mirza second runner up.

While Lara was crowned Miss Universe, Priyanka won the Miss World title and Dia won the Miss Asia Pacific title.
