It's the month of blockbusters.

Salman Khan hopes to release Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai in theatres this Eid, and its box office collections could pave the way for other films that are waiting for a theatrical release.

Then, there's Ramyug, one of the biggest Web series to arrive on OTT.

Arjun Kapoor has a release coming up too.

Joginder Tuteja brings us the May releases.

Lava Ka Dhaava
Where to watch: Netflix
Release date: May 5

Javed Jaffrey has always been known for his unique sense of humour, but the reason he became a household name was due to the 1980s television show, Takeshi's Castle.

On the same lines arrives Lava Ka Dhaava where participants are required to navigate rooms flooded with make-believe lava.

Expect some fun here.

Hai Tauba
Where to watch: ALT Balaji
Release date: May 6

Hai Tauba is an anthology of four stories that have sexual repression as the core theme.

While Ekta Kapoor has explored same-sex relationships in His Storyy and The Married Woman, this one goes further.

Ramyug
Where to watch: MX Player
Release date: May 6

Kunal Kohli has directed the Web series Ramyug based on the Ramayana, which takes viewers to the great battle between Lord Ram and Ravana.

Starring Diganth Manchale (Lord Ram), Kabir Duhan Singh (Ravana), Akkshay Dogra (Lakshman), Aishwarya Ojha (Sita) and Vivan Bhatena (Hanuman), the show promises rich VFX visuals.

Murder Meri Jaan
Where to watch: Disney+Hotstar
Release date: May 7

Disney+Hotstar has launched multiple Web series as a part of their Quix series where each episode will last a mere 10 minutes.

Murder Meri Jaan is one such series which has Tanuj Virwani and Barkha Singh coming together in a cop and con-woman game.

Teen Do Paanch, Hamara Bar Happy Hour, Bamini and Boys and Mukesh Jasoos are the other offerings that will arrive together.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai
Where to watch: Theatres and ZEEPlex
Release date: May 13

Last year saw quite a few big movies arrive straight on the OTT, like Laxmii and Coolie No 1.

Now that Salman Khan is eyeing this platform too (along with a theatrical release at the centers which would be open then), it would be exciting to see how viewers get into a seeti taali mode in front of their mobiles, smart TVs, iPads and computers.

Sardar Ka Grandson
Where to watch: Netflix
Release date: May 18

When John Abraham joined hands with Nikkhil Advani, Sardar Ka Grandson was planned as a sweet film made for theatres for the family audience.

But a long battle with the pandemic meant that the team decided to bring the Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Neena Gupta starrer straight to OTT.

The promo indicates a feel-good smile-through film.

Maharani
Where to watch: Sony LIV
Release date: May

Huma Qureshi takes charge in Maharani.

As a woman who finds herself in the midst of politics, she is the central character with a credible set of co-actors like Sohum Shah, Amit Sial and Vineet Kumar.

Broken But Beautiful 3
Where to watch: ZEE5 and ALT Balaji
Release date: May

Broken But Beautiful is one of the popular romantic offerings from Ekta Kapoor, streaming on ZEE5 and ALT Balaji.

With the kind of popularity it has been enjoying amongst the audiences, a third season is now ready and being prepared for a May release.
