Inflation is for losers. For the successful, the sky is the limit.

Varun Dhawan proves it.

With a track record of only hits to his credit since his debut in Karan Johar's Student Of The Year, and with two superhits this year Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Judwaa 2 taking his career to a new high, Varun has much reason to rejoice.

Taking his stardom to a new level of celebration Varun has upped his price apparently by Rs 5 crores (Rs 50 million).

"Varun is currently the most commercially advantaged actor of his generation," says a source close to the actor. "None of his peers have his success ratio."

"He is a star going on to superstar, and successful as a solo hero," the source adds.

"His contempories Siddharth Malhotra, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are looking to consolidate their fan base," the source feels.

"Ranveer is the closest rival to Varun and Ranveer was paid less than his market price for his three films with his mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali."

Varun, on the other hand, will get his swanky new price from Karan Johar who launched him.

Says the source, "So far there was no financial arrangement between Varun and his mentor. Varun did Karan's films at whatever price Karan wanted to pay him. But in a film Varun will do with Karan in 2018, Varun will get his full market price. His new market price."

Apparently, Karan Johar advised Varun to up his price. Sources say Varun who charged Rs 8 crores (Rs 80 million) is now up to Rs 13 crores (Rs 130 million) for a film.

It remains to be seen if his dad David Dhawan will pay him that price.

Says a source close to Varun, "Varun is focused almost completely on creating a body work free of failure. He has quit all distractions."

The actor's next film is October, an unusual love story with director Shoojit Sircar. The role was first offered to Ranbir Kapoor.

Then Varun has Dum Lagake Haisha director Sharat Katariya's Sui Dhaaga where he pairs up with Anushka Sharma for the first time.

If October turn out to be Varun's 10th consecutive hit then he will be competing not with his contemporaries but with the Khan triumvirate -- Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh.
