Meenakshi [Sucheta Trivedi] from Baa Bahoo Aur Baby is in a pensive mood nowadays. She thinks our society is just moving in weird directions and there is no cohesiveness.

"On one hand, we are talking about stopping child labour, but at the same time the prices are soaring high. How can a middle class family cope with the strain on their shoestring budget? Being an actress, I can afford a car today, but who knows what is going to happen 10 years down the line?" she wonders.

Perhaps, this and the need to satisfy her creative urge, led Sucheta, along with her sister [a fashion designer] to open a designer store in Mumbai's suburb, Bandra. "Mainly, I look after the marketing aspect, and give my creative inputs only if I have the time," says the actress.

Sucheta is also seen working with Hats Off Production serials a lot. "I know JD and Atish for ages now and we did many plays together. They are the only producers in recent times who are logical and keep making great shows. Baa Bahoor Aur Baby is doing great and they are the winners at the Star Parivaar awards. And this is because common people can relate to these characters easily."

Sucheta will be seen in Hats Off's other show Ek Packet Umeed where she is playing Kanchan. "Her role is just opposite of Meenakshi. And that is the challenge for me."

Sucheta used to play a key role in Balaji's Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki but left the show a couple of years ago due to creative differences. But she respects Ekta Kapoor a lot. "All said and done Ekta is employing so many people gainfully. That is an extremely commendable job."

So if Ekta offers her a role in Kahani Hamarey Mahabharat Ki will she accept?

Sucheta pauses, smiles and responds, "Only if it is Draupadi..."
