Who says television is cakewalk? Ask Angad, and he'll tell you how much hard work it requires.

It starts even before you bag the serial. Angad had to put on a few kilos and get the right hairstyle before he got to play Alekh in Star Plus' Vidaai.

"I met Rajan Sahi, the producer of Vidaai, and asked him for a role," Angad says. "I had long hair and a good physique when I met him. He showed me the door saying that I was not suitable because of my hair and better-than-required physique!"

Angad was not one to let go of the opportunity so easily. "After a few days, I went back to him with short hair and a less muscular body. He was impressed and said that then I fit the role perfectly!" Angad laughs.

The

actor has been playing the role for the last few months, and is steadily climbing the popularity charts.

It is interesting how Angad entered the television industry too. "I used to workout regularly during my college days and did about 25 music videos," he says. "But I decided to complete my course in interior designing." The actor has an interior designing showroom in Chandigarh.

As luck would have it, Angad participated in a beauty pageant and won the title of Mr Punjab. "A cousin forced me to come to Mumbai and try my luck in the television industry. I decided to give it a shot and landed up with a cameo in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi."

The rest, as they say, is history.
