Trailer Watch: Kahaani 2 looks intriguing!

October 25, 2016 19:10 IST

The trailer is so gripping that you know something interesting is bound to happen, feels Syed Firdaus Ashraf.

Where did Vidya Balan's character disappear in Kahaani?

How did she manipulate the police system so well?

Did she remarry?

Why didn't she speak to the audience before the final scene in Kahaani?

These questions have been on my mind since I saw the film in 2012.

I am happy to see director Sujoy Ghosh complete Kahaani's sequel.

I have been reading about how Ghosh was struggling to get funds for Kahaani 2 or was trying to rework the script.

I wondered if he'd crack the writer's block. After watching the Kahaani 2 trailer, it seems he has nailed it perfectly.

The four-year wait seems to be worth it.

The trailer is so gripping that you know something interesting is bound to happen.

Listen to Vidya's 'hello' at the beginning of the trailer.

Her voice quivers and sounds so real. Her clothes and make-up look real too.

Arjun Rampal, as Sub Inspector Inderjit Singh, looks smart.

The way the promo has been shot gives you a feeling that Kahaani 2 has two parallel stories running alongside.

One, where Vidya tells her story.

Two, where Arjun tries to find out the truth in Vidya's life.

The only minus point is that you may find some similarity with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Jazba, where ARB kept rolling her eyes at us.

Unlike Sanjay Gupta, Jazba's director, Sujoy Ghosh sticks to realism and you feel for Vidya's character.

Kahaani 2 releases on December 2.
