Trailer: The Sky Is Pink looks heart-wrenching

September 10, 2019 12:46 IST

Priyanka and Farhan's love story looks really cute and their chemistry is crackling, writes Karan Sanjay Shah.

The trailer of Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar's new film The Sky Is Pink is heart-wrenching and inspirational.

The film revolves around the real-life story of the late Aisha Chaudhary (played by Zaira Wasim), a young motivational speaker, who suffered from a medical condition called pulmonary fibrosis.

Besides her struggle, the film also tells the love story of her parents, Aditi (Priyanka Chopra) and Niren (Farhan Akhtar).

A chance pregnancy changes their life and turns it upside down.

The story is narrated by Aisha, in her sassy and humorous way.

The Sky Is Pink takes us on a roller coaster journey, full of emotions.

Priyanka and Farhan's love story looks really cute and their chemistry is crackling. We see them in different looks, as the story spans across time.

Zaira keeps you hooked on as well, as she makes us laugh as well as feel for her condition. It's sad that this will be the last time we will see Zaira on the big screen after she took a decision to quit acting.

Rohit Saraf, who plays Zaira's brother, holds his ground in a limited screen space.

Director Shonali Bose and her team need to be applauded for presenting a heart-wrenching tale without any melodrama. The writing is commendable, with some really warm and yet, funny lines.

Pritam's background music is on point too.

Yet, it seems the The Sky Is Pink trailer gives out the major plot twists and details.

The whole story seems to be out there, and there is no surprise element left.

The Sky is Pink releases on October 11, after a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
