Actor Tobey Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer have decided to separate after nine years of marriage.
The couple met in 2003 and are parents to Ruby Maguire, nine, and Otis Maguire, seven, reported People magazine.
'After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship,' Maguire and Jennifer said in a joint statement.
The actor, 41, and the jewelry designer, 39, are based in California.

Jennifer Lawrence secretly dating Darren Aronofsky?
Actress Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly dating director Darren Aronofsky after they bonded over a new movie they are doing together.
The 26-year-old actress and the director, who is 21 years her senior, have set tongues wagging after they were spotted on a string of low-key dates in Los Angeles recently, reported Female First.
The new film also stars Javier Bardem and Michelle Pfeiffer.
'Jennifer and Darren have tried to keep things low-key and under wraps but they are really into each other. Recently Jennifer was working on a gruelling project and she relied on Darren for support and they were in constant contact. It seemed to show they were the real deal,' a source said.
The Joy actress previously dated Coldplay's Chris Martin and Nicholas Hoult.
Aronofsky was previously married to Rachel Weisz.

Kerry Washington welcomes baby boy
Kerry Washington and husband Nnamdi Asomugha have welcomed their second child together.
The 39-year-old actress gave birth to baby boy Caleb Kelechi Asomugha on October 5, reported E! online.
Washington's second pregnancy was confirmed in May, after her baby bump was on display while attending the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in Washington, DC.
The couple are already parents to daughter Isabelle. Washington hasn't posted about her new son on social media so far.
