Riteish Deshmukh is always amazing on screen. Even with limited screen-time, he manages to leave an impression.

And he's all set to do that in his latest film, Baaghi 3, an action thriller starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.

Doesn't Riteish want to headline an out-and-out action extravaganza like his co-star?

“When you see Tiger Shroff do it, he does it so well. It is not even about doing well, it is so convincing,” the actor tells Rediff.com Contributor Mohnish Singh.

Right after Marjaavaan, you play a sweet and innocent brother in Baaghi 3. Somewhere down the line, he is the catalyst in the movie. What made you excited about the character?

It is similar to the kind of relationship I share with my brothers -- and I get to play that on screen.

The situation is different, the dynamics are different and the relationship is different but the love towards your brother -- an emotion that if something happens, you are ready to cross any limit -- is there.

Many times, when someone fights or gets beaten up, he is questioned about what happened, who hit him, who was at fault etc.

All these questions are asked by your brother, your father, your mother or your friends.

But there are few relationships where they do not ask any questions. They just stand by your side.

They want to know what has happened with you and they go and fight.

Very few are lucky to have this.

I think my character carries a fate where one such person exists, who does not question him.

He is just like, ‘You touch my brother and I will kill you’.

What is your memory of the song Ek Aankh Maaru, which has been recreated in your film?

Being the fan of the '80s music, Jeetendra and all those south Indian remakes, I know this was a hugely iconic song.

I was old enough then to have gone and see these movies in theatres.

Ek Aankh Maaru was an iconic song, and just to have it recreated for this film is extremely special.

You have announced the Shivaji trilogy. Do you think the stupendous success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has boosted the confidence of makers, who want to make historical movies?

It's too early to talk about it.

I have been wanting to make this film for a long time.

We are extremely excited that we are collaborating with Nagraj Manjule; I think he is one of the finest directors in the country.

Be it Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior or any film’s success, it definitely gives a boost to films in general as people to go to theatres and experience it.

Hopefully, we will be on floors soon.

We love your videos with your wife Genelia D’Souza.

I think it is fun, I love that medium.

I am enjoying because there is a particular sense of humour.

I have convinced both of them (children) to do a fun video after this.

Do you want to do a hardcore action film like Tiger Shroff does?

I have done it.

I have done Lai Bhaari and Mauli though they were in another language.

As an actor, I have particular skill sets.

Now, whether I take those skill sets to Hindi or Marathi, it is going to be the same.

If your comparing it to Baaghi 3, then no.

I think Baaghi 3 is the biggest action film that we have witnessed in recent times.

When you see Tiger Shroff do it, he does it so well. It is not even about doing well, it is so convincing.

There are people who do action like an action film. He does it as if it is poetry in motion and that is beautiful to see.
