'The National Award is like winning an Oscar'

Actor Jayasurya, who got a special mention at the National film awards for his performance in Lukka Chuppi and Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam, is on cloud nine.

In an interview, he said that it's just like winning an Oscar.

“I have been a junior artiste and my achievement should give all the wannabes the confidence that if you strive hard, you can see your dreams come true in movies,” says Jayasurya.

Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam narrated the story of a man, who finds the going tough due to his stammering problem, while Lukka Chuppi is about a college reunion that becomes pretty eventful.

Dileep and Kavya in Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Pinneyum

Dileep and Kavya Madhavan

Actors Dileep and Kavya Madhavan are all set to team up once again, this time in ace filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Pinneyum.

The veteran filmmaker, whose last release was 2008's Oru Pennum Randaanum, will start shooting the new film in May.

Pinneyum, which is said to be an intense love story, has camera by M J Radhakrishnan.

Kavya has acted in Adoor's 2007 film Naalu Pennungal, while Dileep will be acting in an Adoor film for the first time.

Marathi actor Subodh Bhave as well as KPAC Lalitha, Nedumudi Venu and Indrans form the rest of the cast.

Adoor, who earlier made award winning films like Swayamvaram, Kodiyettam, Elippathayam, Anantharam, Mathilukal and Vidheyan, is regarded as one of the finest filmmakers in the history of Indian cinema. He won the Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2004.

Anu Emmanuel to play Dulquer's heroine

Actor Anu Emmanuel, who played Nivin Pauly's love interest in Action Hero Biju, is Dulquer Salmaan's heroine in director Amal Neerad's next.

Anu had made her debut as a child artiste in Swapna Sanchari, in which she played the daughter of Jayaram and Samvrutha Sunil. She is currently busy with her Telugu projects, which includes Oxygen with Gopichand.

Amal Neerad, known for his action thrillers, is rumoured to be planning a rom-com that will be shot extensively in the United States.

Vijay George in Kochi
