The family mourns Rishi Kapoor

April 30 has been a difficult day for the first family of Bollywood.

Weeks after Ritu Nanda, the late Krishna and Raj Kapoor's eldest child, lost her life to cancer, Rishi Kapoor, their second son, lost his life to the same disease.

Neetu Kapoor posted the family's official statement on Instagram.

Riddhima Sahni was the apple of her father's eye.

'Papa I love you I will always love you - RIP my strongest warrior I will miss you everyday I will miss your FaceTime calls everyday! I wish I could be there to say goodbye to you! Until we meet again papa I love you - your Mushk forever', Ridhima, who could not arrive from New Delhi in time for her father's funeral, wrote.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, whose father Randhir is Rishi's elder brother, posted a throwback picture and wrote: 'The best boys I know... Papa and Chintu uncle'.

Karisma Kapoor, Kareena's elder sister, also posted a throwback picture and wrote: 'Always looking over family.. chintu uncle will miss discussing food and restaurants with you..'

Anil Kapoor -- a distant cousin of the Kapoors -- posted a throwback picture with a message.

Boney Kapoor, Anil's elder brother, also posted a collage of throwback pictures and wrote: 'Devastated. Shocked. Just reminiscing the time I was blessed to share with you. You shall always be missed. Even at this moment, just thinking about you brings a smile on my face. Condolences to the entire family. #RIPLegend #RishiKapoor'

His younger brother Sanjay Kapoor wrote: 'Love you Chintu You will be missed! From the firing chimpu and i got as kids, to all the love you gave me during the shooting of Luck by Chance'
