It has been 10 years of Dabangg on September 10.

While the Salman Khan starrer started a hit franchise and paved the way for more such masala entertainers, it is also special as it marks 10 years of Sonakshi Sinha in Bollywood.

Joginder Tuteja looks back at her career, and looks at her top films.

Mission Mangal
Box office collection: Rs 203 crore

Despite the towering presence of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and other actors like Taapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen, Sonakshi made sure her performance was noticed in Mission Mangal.

This Jagan Shakti directorial film was the first space mission film to make such a huge mark at the box office.

Dabangg 3 Rs 150 crore
Dabangg 2 Rs 156.50 crore
Dabangg Rs 140 crore

One of Dabangg's most popular dialogues was said by Sonakshi: 'Thappad se darr nahi lagta, pyaar se lagta hai.'

She took her Rajjo forward to Dabangg 2 and it was a bigger success.

The escapades of Chulbul Pandey were not as impressive in the third installment and yet, Dabangg 3 earned Rs 150 crore.

Rowdy Rathore

When Sonakshi started her career, she was delivering back-to-back hits.

Rowdy Rathore was her second release and emerged a major superhit.

From Salman Khan to Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi transitioned at ease and was happy being a part of funny scenes, songs and dances.

Holiday
Box office collection: Rs 113 crore

Sonakshi scored another hit with Akshay Kumar in Holiday.

Her scenes brought some lighter moments to this fast-paced thriller.

She went on to feature in some special songs for Akshay in OMG Oh My God! and Boss.

Son of Sardaar
Box office collection: Rs 105 crore

Sonakshi's pairing with Ajay Devgn worked as well in Son of Sardaar.

She also showed off her improving comic timing in this hit film.

R... Rajkumar
Box office collection: Rs 66 crore

Sonakshi added some hit songs to her career with Gandi Baat and Saree Ke Fall Se as she shared the screen with Shahid Kapoor.

The film saw a lot of drama and action and was a good masala entertainer with Director Prabhu Deva.

Ittefaq
Box office collection: Rs 30.21 crore

Ittefaq saw Sonakshi in an author-backed role as she reprised the part played by Nanda from B R Chopra's original Ittefaq.

She shared the screen with Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna, and did her part well.

Akira
Box office collection: Rs 30 crore

After working with Director A R Murugadoss in Holiday, Sonakshi stepped in as the protagonist for Akira.

She played a woman out for revenge and put her fierce avatar on display.

Sonakshi carried entirely on her shoulders, and showed off her potential.

Lootera
Box office collection: Rs 29 crore

The film at the top of Sonakshi's repertoire, Lootera is among the best films made in Hindi cinema in the new century.

Unfortunately, it could not cover the distance commercially.

The film left audiences waiting to see Sonakshi romance Ranveer Singh on screen again.
