Swetha Menon is now playing Rathi, the protagonist, while Sreejith Vijay plays the boy, Pappu. Sreejith has recently done a supporting role in the Fazil movie, Living Together.

The shooting of Rathinirvedam is currently going on at various locations near Mavelikkara.

Manoj Pillai wields the camera while M Jayachandran is the music director.

Rajeev Kumar says that the soul of the film has been adopted with some changes to appeal to the current audience. Swetha Menon says that she hasn't seen the original and is doing the role as per the director's vision.

According to Sreejith, there have been doubts raised by many, which includes his family, regarding whether to accept the role or not. But he had no doubts as this was one highly challenging role.
