After the debacle of Raavan, Tamil superstar Vikram had Deivathirumagal to cheer about. This 'inspired' version of I am Sam did very well at the box office.

His next film Rajapattai, where he plays a gym instructor aspiring to be a villain in films, looks interesting as it is directed by Susindran who made a refreshingly different Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu.

If Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu was different from the run-of-the-mill masala films, Susindran admits that Rajapattai is "a humorous, action masala commercial film".

At a press conference to launch the film, Vikram had said, "Rajapattai is a cinema-related film. Unlike other film crazy men who want to be heroes in films, I play an aspiring villain. There is slight negativity in my character. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed playing the role."

Deeksha Seth plays the female lead and Pradeep Rawat of Ghajini fame is the villain. Veteran film-maker K Viswanath, after a long gap, appears in an important role in the film.

Rajapattai will release on December 16.
