Salman Khan: Katrina is my sister-in-law!
Chandan Cinema theatre, in Mumbai's western suburb of Juhu, saw some major fan frenzy on December 12. After all, it's not everyday one gets to see superstar Salman Khan. Khan was on location to unveil the trailer of his latest film, Jai Ho, directed by brother Sohail.
A 500-plus crowd had gathered at the venue for just a glimpse.
Girls screamed 'I love you Salman, Jai ho Salman' and 'We want Salman.' Others posed for pictures against a huge movie poster of Jai Ho at the entrance of the theatre.
The unfortunate ones who couldn't get inside the theatre tried to climb the walls to get in.
Inside the theatre, the frenzy climbed a few notches higher.
When the Jai Ho trailer started playing, one could barely hear it, as every scene was greeted by whistles and screams.
Even the actor couldn’t be heard when he stepped onto the podium, waving and blowing kisses.
Salman was clearly thrilled, and was in his element.
He started off with a joke, “If you like the trailer, please stay. If you don't, please move out."

'I consider myself as a common man'
The film had been earlier titled Mental, but it was later changed to Jai Ho.
Explaining the reason, Salman joked, “Today, we have an intelligent Khan (Aamir Khan), Badshah Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) and Nawab Khan (Saif Ali Khan). So tomorrow, you might call me Mental Khan. I will not have a problem with it but other Khans would, especially my father Salim Khan.”
Salman said his father didn’t like the earlier title and so it was changed.
Jai Ho is about a man of the people, who fights injustice.
"I consider myself as a common man,” Salman said. “I like to do things that a common man does. I like to sit in a rickshaw or drive my cycle. There are times when I roll down my windows when I am travelling in my car.”
Salman credits his fans for his success: "Whatever I am today is because of my fans. If they didn’t love my films and my work, I wouldn’t be here. I have to respect my fans who pay for their movie tickets and come to watch me.”

'Box office is not an ego game'
Salman claimed he has no intention of breaking any box office records with his latest film.
"The first promo is the deciding factor for people whether they want to see the film or not,” he said. “Today, it is not only about a film collecting Rs 200 or Rs 300 crores. Box office is not an ego game."
"There is no ego that if Shah Rukh’s and Aamir’s films have earned a certain amount, then my film should cross it. Every film should do well and the industry should make money. I wish and hope everybody’s film does well so that the business is more and the industry grows,” he said.

'I am not the Rajinikanth of Bollywood'
Salman did not skirt around questions about his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
In a recent episode on Koffee With Karan, Kareena Kapoor had claimed that Katrina was her sister-in-law, since Ranbir Kapoor, who was on the show with her, was her cousin.
Salman quipped, "If she (Katrina Kaif) is her (Kareena Kapoor) sister-in-law, than she is my sister-in-law also!"
Salman has given five blockbuster films in a row -- Wanted, Dabangg, Ready, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabaang 2 -- and is sometimes called the Rajinikanth of Bollywood. But he doesn't agree. "I am not the Rajinikanth of Bollywood. As a person, if I come close to him, I would be really happy.”
Jai Ho is set to release on January 24.
